A late-night shooting incident was reported in the Gate Hakima police station area of the city, resulting in the death of one individual. The deceased has been identified as Narayan Das, who ran a general store located right near his home.
**Ongoing Dispute with a Shopkeeper**
According to his family, Narayan Das had stepped out late at night to walk his dogs, just as he did every day. Suddenly, the sound of gunfire rang out, and he called home to inform his family that he had been shot. Family members rushed to the scene immediately and took him to the hospital, where he passed away approximately half an hour later. The deceased’s brother stated that Narayan Das did not have any major disputes with anyone. However, there had been a minor disagreement with a nearby shop owner regarding an inverter; yet, no one had anticipated that the matter would escalate to such a serious level.
**Death Caused by Excessive Bleeding**
Providing details on the case, SP Vishaljit Singh stated that preliminary investigations revealed Narayan Das had struck the shutter of a shop with a piece of wood, which subsequently led to an altercation with a neighbor named Rajneesh. During the dispute, Rajneesh fired a shot from his licensed 12-bore shotgun, striking Narayan Das in the leg. He succumbed to his injuries due to excessive blood loss. Acting swiftly, the police have arrested the accused and have also recovered the weapon used in the crime. A case has been registered in the matter, and further investigations are underway.
