Panic spread through Jawand Vihar in the Sandhu Nagar area when a craftsman working at a hosiery factory was brutally murdered by a fellow worker—a young man who also happened to be his nephew. The very nephew whom the deceased, Dharmendra, had brought to Ludhiana just a month earlier to help secure a job, turned on him after a minor argument, engaging in a bloody act that sent his uncle to an eternal sleep. Acting swiftly, the police solved this baffling murder case within a few hours and have arrested the accused.
Providing details of the incident, factory owner Umi Lali stated that he received a phone call around 2:30 AM from the contractor, Rahul, who reported an altercation at the factory and informed him that Dharmendra was lying there in a pool of blood. The police and an ambulance were immediately notified. Dharmendra was rushed to the Civil Hospital, but his injuries were so severe that doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. It is reported that a heated argument broke out between the two men late at night over some issue; enraged by the dispute, the accused grabbed a heavy stool lying nearby and struck Dharmendra on the head with it.
This horrific crime has completely shattered the happiness of a family residing in Lucknow. For the past 5–6 years, Dharmendra had been supporting his family through his hard-earned wages from this factory in Ludhiana. He leaves behind his helpless wife and an innocent 4-year-old daughter, who have now lost the protective presence of their father forever. According to the factory owner, six people worked there during the day, but only these two men stayed back at night—a circumstance the accused exploited to carry out this crime.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the police from the Haibowal station arrived at the scene and immediately initiated an investigation. Footage from CCTV cameras installed within the factory and the surrounding areas is being scrutinized to determine whether any other outsiders were present at the time of the incident. Currently, the accused is in police custody and is undergoing intensive interrogation.
