A case of domestic violence has come to light in the village of Gholia Khurd in Moga district, where a woman was severely injured after being attacked with a hammer by her husband following a domestic dispute. The victim has been admitted to the Civil Hospital, Moga.
Providing details regarding the incident, Inspector Jatinder Singh, Station In-charge of the Nihal Singh Wala Police Station, stated that the police received information that Amandeep Kaur—a resident of Gholia Khurd—had been severely assaulted and injured by her husband and was currently undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital, Moga. He added that, taking the matter seriously, the statement of the victimized woman was officially recorded. According to the information received, Amandeep Kaur has accused her husband of subjecting her to a brutal physical assault. The police have registered a case against her husband, Jagtar Singh, and have launched a manhunt to apprehend him.
Upon learning of the incident, farmer leaders also visited the hospital to inquire about the victim’s condition. They appealed to the District Superintendent of Police, Moga, to ensure that justice is delivered to the victimized woman and that the alleged perpetrator is apprehended without delay.
