Near the Markfed facility on Sirsa Road, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) was run over by a black Skoda car (registration number CH-01 AU-1567), resulting in his instantaneous death at the scene. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with this case.
According to reports, the driver of the Skoda had fled the town of Jhunir on Wednesday after being involved in an accident there. When Additional Assistant Sub-Inspector Sukhwinder Singh—a resident of Natheha who was posted with the ‘112’ emergency response unit—signaled the vehicle to stop, the driver deliberately drove the car into him, causing his immediate death at the spot. In this regard, DSP Manjit Singh of Sardulgarh stated that the eyewitness present at the scene is currently in a state of shock; further action will be taken once his statement has been recorded.
