Amidst the brewing controversy in Punjab regarding stray dogs, Punjabi and Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has now come forward to openly express his stance. Sharing a video on his social media account, the actor asserted that killing dogs that live on the streets is not the solution. He urged the government to construct shelter homes for these voiceless animals and pledged to make personal efforts in this direction as well.
Sonu Sood hails from Moga, Punjab. His sister is also a Congress party worker based in the same region. In the video, Sonu Sood remarked that while humans may write books, if one wishes to learn the true meaning of loyalty, it is best learned from dogs. He noted that many people adopt stray dogs and look after them, and such dogs typically pose no threat.
Sonu Sood Calls for Collective Action
Sonu Sood expressed deep concern over the practice—often carried out under official orders—of capturing and removing dogs from streets and neighborhoods, noting that the mere thought of what subsequently befalls them is distressing. Appealing to the public, he urged everyone to raise their voices as loudly as possible to help halt the implementation of such orders.
