Reports have emerged regarding an attack on a coaching center owner and several students in Patiala. According to reports, the incident took place yesterday morning in Vidya Nagar, near Punjabi University, where approximately eight unidentified youths—armed with weapons—carried out the assault. The entire incident was captured on the CCTV cameras installed within the coaching center. Reports indicate that four individuals sustained injuries during the attack and are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Providing details regarding the incident, the owner of the coaching center stated that classes were in progress and students were present at the time. Suddenly, the unidentified youths began vandalizing the premises. During the commotion, the assailants attacked one of the students. When the owner and her son intervened to protect the student, the attackers struck them with their weapons. The incident left the students present at the scene terrified, resulting in panic and screams.
Commenting on the incident, the police stated that an ongoing dispute regarding rent exists between the coaching center and the building’s owner. The owner has been pressuring the tenants to agree to a rent hike, a matter over which the tenants have filed a court case. Based on the CCTV footage, the police are currently working to identify and trace the accused individuals.
