A case has come to light involving a young man who allegedly forced a woman into sexual relations against her will and threatened to kill her after recording an obscene video of the incident at a hotel located near Inside Mahan Singh Gate in Amritsar. The police from the B-Division station have arrested the prime accused.
In a complaint filed with the police, the victim—a resident of Donowal village (Jalandhar)—stated that she is a divorcee and has a 3-year-old child. According to the victim, she had come to pay obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib on May 21, accompanied by a female friend from Kapurthala. Here, her “foster brother,” Sahil, arranged for their accommodation at a hotel situated near Mahan Singh Gate.
At night, when Sahil came to deliver their dinner, Azad Singh—son of Gurwinder Singh, a resident of Tarsikka village (Amritsar)—also arrived at the scene; the victim had been in a relationship with him for the past two and a half years. Upon entering the room, Azad Singh immediately picked a quarrel and forcibly stripped the victim in the presence of both Sahil and her friend. When Sahil and the friend objected to this, the accused attempted to provoke Sahil as well; however, Sahil left the premises, asserting that the victim was his sister.
**Video Recorded; Threats Issued to Kill Child**
Subsequently, the accused, Azad Singh, forcibly engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim right in front of her friend. The victim expressed apprehension that the accused had also recorded an obscene video of the act. As he was leaving the hotel around 4:30 AM, the accused threatened the victim, warning that if she disclosed the incident to anyone, he would kill her child and her family members. Acting swiftly on the victim’s complaint, the police have registered a case against the accused, Azad Singh, and have placed him under arrest.
