Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Thursday described the appointment of Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon as the new State President of the Punjab BJP as a transformative moment in the politics of Punjab. Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Shri Nitin Nabin, Chugh stated that this decision reflects the BJP’s commitment to inclusive leadership and organizational expansion within Punjab.
Chugh remarked that the BJP leadership has once again demonstrated that the party is committed to taking every section of society along and further strengthening its bond with the people of Punjab. Chugh also lauded the contributions of former State President Sunil Jakhar and Acting President Ashwani Sharma. Chugh noted that Sunil Jakhar, through his extensive political experience and visionary leadership, strengthened the party’s ideological foundation in Punjab, while Ashwani Sharma played a pivotal role in extending the organization’s reach to every booth across the state.
Chugh stated that Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon is a strong representative of Punjab’s agrarian culture, traditions, and public sentiments. He added that, for the first time in the party’s history, entrusting the command of the Punjab BJP to a Sikh leader reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, aur Sabka Prayas” (Support of all, Development for all, Trust of all, and Efforts of all). Chugh asserted that, under the leadership of Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon and with the organizational experience of Ashwani Sharma, the BJP is set to write a new chapter in the politics of Punjab.
Chugh affirmed that the BJP is fully committed to liberating Punjab from dynastic politics, corruption, and misgovernance, and to integrating it into the mainstream of development. He stated that the BJP will work to ensure that the benefits of the Central Government’s public welfare schemes reach every household in Punjab, and will further accelerate efforts to build a prosperous, progressive, and drug-free Punjab. Congratulating the new team, Tarun Chugh hailed this development as a historic milestone toward further strengthening the organization and securing a bright future for Punjab.
