A disturbing incident involving the brutal assault of women on suspicion of theft has come to light in the Kala Singha area of Jalandhar. A video of the incident is rapidly going viral on social media, showing a group of people tying the women to a pole and beating them.
According to reports, two women were apprehended by locals on charges of theft at an electrical shop located in the area. It is alleged that the enraged mob took the law into their own hands, first tying both women to a pole and then subjecting them to a severe beating. The video also shows the women being dragged and manhandled.
A large crowd gathered at the scene while the incident was unfolding, yet no one attempted to intervene or rescue the women. Meanwhile, following the viral circulation of the video, people have raised questions regarding the propriety of physically assaulting someone on mere suspicion of theft and the justification of taking the law into one’s own hands.
