The Chandigarh administration has sealed a club associated with renowned rapper Badshah on grounds of violating building regulations. This action by the administration follows a prolonged period of building violations and a disregard for established norms.
According to reports, the club’s operators had previously been issued notices on multiple occasions. The administration had issued directives to remove unauthorized structures and bring the building into compliance with the approved architectural plan; however, these regulations were not adhered to within the stipulated timeframe. Consequently, a team from the Estate Office visited the premises and proceeded to seal the club.
The administration has stated that it has adopted a “zero-tolerance” policy regarding violations of building bylaws within the city.
Notices have previously been issued to several other clubs and bars, including those located in Sector 7 and Sector 26. The High Court, too, has adopted a strict stance in its efforts to preserve Chandigarh’s heritage and urban planning framework. It is reported that violations such as the unauthorized covering of open areas within the club premises, construction without requisite approval, and alterations to the approved building plan were detected. The administration has made it clear that similar punitive actions will continue to be taken against commercial establishments that flout regulations in the future.
