An incident has come to light in the Atam Nagar area of the city where unidentified thieves targeted a locked house and stole goods worth lakhs of rupees. The thieves were so brazen that, in addition to breaking the locks on the rooms, they even ripped out and stole the bathroom taps before fleeing. Upon receiving information about the incident, the Model Town police registered a case against the unknown thieves based on the homeowner’s complaint and have initiated an investigation.
In his complaint to the police, Joginder Lal stated that a man named Prabhjot Singh lives in the house as a tenant with his family. On May 18, the tenant, Prabhjot Singh, had locked the house securely and gone to Bathinda with his family for some work. On June 6, when the homeowner visited the property for a routine check, he was shocked to find the main gate already open. Suspecting something amiss, he entered the house and inspected the inner rooms, only to discover that the thieves had forcibly broken the locks on all the rooms and ransacked the contents. Furthermore, the thieves had even removed and taken away the expensive taps installed in the bathrooms. Following the homeowner’s report, the police arrived at the scene and inspected the premises. They are now scrutinizing footage from CCTV cameras installed in the area to find clues leading to the gang of thieves responsible for this unusual burglary.
