The Ferozepur Sadar Police have registered a case after investigating allegations that a man attempted to secure an insurance claim by falsely declaring his own brother dead in official documents.

According to the investigation report, Ramesh Singh, a resident of Gatti Rajo village, is accused of resorting to fraud to procure a life insurance policy in the name of his brother, Rakesh Singh.
It is alleged that instead of using a photograph of the actual individual, a photo of another person was attached to the documents at the time of the policy application.
**Fake Death Certificate Revealed**
According to investigating officers, the entire incident appears to be part of a premeditated scheme. It is alleged that incorrect information was entered into the documents with the intention of claiming the insurance amount later. The matter took a more serious turn during the investigation when a fake death certificate came to light.
