Kewal Singh Dhillon, State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab, stated today that as the entire nation celebrates the completion of 12 years of transformative governance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the people of Punjab should be aware of the unprecedented financial assistance, infrastructure development, public welfare initiatives, and farmer-centric schemes provided to the state by the Government of India during this period.
Sardar Dhillon remarked that the figures clearly demonstrate the historic support Punjab has received from the NDA government led by Prime Minister Modi. He noted that the state has directly received over ₹4.13 lakh crore through tax devolution, grants-in-aid, GST compensation, and central loans.
Punjab received over ₹1.84 lakh crore in tax devolution, ₹1.48 lakh crore in grants, ₹39,997 crore in GST compensation, and over ₹40,767 crore in loans and advances from the Centre. He emphasized that Punjab’s share in central taxes has consistently increased across various Finance Commissions during Prime Minister Modi’s tenure, reflecting the central government’s commitment to the state’s development.
Highlighting key achievements, Sardar Dhillon stated that Punjab has benefited from National Highway projects worth ₹43,527 crore, railway investments of ₹34,488 crore, ₹6,552 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), ₹5,773 crore under the Jal Jeevan Mission, and ₹5,295 crore under the National Health Mission. More than 11 lakh farmers have benefited from the PM-KISAN scheme, while over 17 lakh rural households have received tap water connections. Healthcare services in Punjab have also seen significant expansion through initiatives like Ayushman Bharat, AIIMS Bathinda, new medical colleges, and over 565 Jan Aushadhi Kendras, which provide affordable medicines to the public. The Punjab BJP President stated that these achievements reflect the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” (Together with all, Development for all, Trust of all, Efforts of all). He noted that the Modi government has not merely announced schemes but has delivered tangible results on the ground in the form of improved infrastructure, advanced healthcare services, farmer welfare, social security, employment opportunities, and enhanced connectivity. He added that the past twelve years represent a new era of development, good governance, and nation-building for both Punjab and the country.
