On Tuesday afternoon, the Jammu & Kashmir Police and Amritsar Rural Police conducted a raid in Dream City—falling under the jurisdiction of the Chatiwind police station—and arrested two miscreants. An AK-47, a pistol, and 420 grams of narcotics were recovered from the accused.
Inspector Harchand identified the arrested individuals as Surajdeep Singh and Harpreet Singh, both residents of Jandiala Guru. He stated that the Jammu Police had previously registered cases against both men for drug trafficking and violations of the Arms Act. The police had been searching for them for quite some time. Investigations and mobile location tracking revealed that the duo was hiding in Dream City, within the jurisdiction of the Chatiwind police station (Amritsar Rural). Subsequently, the Jammu Police, in coordination with the Amritsar Rural Police, raided the location and arrested them. An AK-47, a pistol, and 420 grams of narcotics were recovered during a search of the house where they were staying. Investigations revealed that, to date, no cases have been registered against the two miscreants in Punjab.
Despite this, they were in possession of weapons while in hiding. The local police have not yet taken any action against them. DSP Yadvinder Singh stated that discussions are underway with senior officials regarding the registration of additional cases against the duo at the Chatiwind police station.
