Following the interrogation of three youths arrested for spying for Pakistan—and an analysis of their call detail records and digital activities—the police have identified over 15 individuals who had been in constant contact with the accused. This group includes relatives, close acquaintances, and other suspects.
While the identities of the suspects have not yet been disclosed, raids are being conducted across various districts of Punjab and in other states to locate them. Investigative agencies are working to determine whether these individuals had any links to the espionage network. In this connection, five people have been detained for questioning, although police officials have not officially confirmed this. Significant information has also been retrieved from the mobile phones of the detained individuals.
The police are also examining the accused’s bank accounts, digital transactions, and contacts with foreign phone numbers. Further arrests are possible if the existence of a larger network is confirmed.
Notably, the recently arrested individuals include Sachin Khosla, Bharat Verma (alias Sunny), and Pradeep Singh, who were in contact with Pakistan-based gangsters Shahzad Bhatti and Hamas Gujjar. The accused were gathering information from government offices and sensitive locations and transmitting it to Pakistan. The police have seized their mobile phones and digital devices.
