Congress High Command’s decision will not change, says Bhupesh Baghel; meeting with disgruntled Punjab leaders soon

Date:

Amidst the ongoing political stir regarding organizational reshuffles within the Punjab Congress, state in-charge Bhupesh Baghel continued a series of meetings with leaders and office-bearers at the Punjab Congress Bhawan in Chandigarh on Wednesday. Holding separate meetings with constituency in-charges, district coordinators, Congress spokespersons, and other organizational office-bearers, he discussed preparations for the upcoming assembly elections and strategies to strengthen the organization.

Speaking after the meetings, Bhupesh Baghel stated unequivocally that there is no question of reversing the Congress High Command’s decision. He affirmed that Amarinder Singh Raja Warring would remain the Punjab Congress President and that the decision taken by the party leadership would be implemented. Baghel remarked, “This is not a game of dolls. Once the High Command takes a decision, the Congress moves forward with it. There is no tradition within the party of withdrawing decisions.”

**Already spoken to both leaders**

Responding to questions about former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa—who are reportedly dissatisfied with the organizational appointments—Baghel said he had already spoken to both leaders and would meet them soon. He mentioned that he is communicating with all leaders and workers and, if necessary, would visit their homes to meet them. He emphasized that dialogue within the party is the solution to all issues. On Wednesday, several senior leaders, including former minister Razia Sultana, also met Bhupesh Baghel at the Congress Bhawan. Discussions during the meetings covered strengthening the organization down to the booth level, enhancing coordination among various committees, and planning upcoming programs.
