The atmosphere at the government school in Khara village, Faridkot, took on a unique tone on Wednesday when Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan arrived to meet the students. Instead of a formal interaction, he sat among the children and listened to what they had to say. Speaker Sandhwan sat on a bench with the students in the classroom and inquired about their studies, sports activities, and the facilities available at the school.
Speaker Sandhwan discussed their academics and asked about the facilities they were availing at the school. He encouraged the children to pursue their studies with hard work, dedication, and discipline. During the interaction, the students shared their experiences and spoke about their needs regarding the school. Encouragement to Participate in Sports: Sandhwan urged the students not to limit themselves to academics alone but to actively participate in sports and other activities. He conveyed a message about the importance of setting life goals and working consistently hard to achieve them. After interacting with the students, the Speaker met with the school’s teachers. He gathered information on various aspects of the students’ education and discussed the available facilities, necessary resources, and ways to provide a better academic environment.
Emphasis on Quality Education: Sandhwan stated that providing quality education and better basic amenities to students in government schools is a priority for the government. Education is the foundation of societal progress. A conducive environment allows students to hone their talents and move forward in life. The Speaker’s decision to sit and interact directly with the students was significant, as it allowed him to learn about their needs firsthand. Such interactions not only boost the students’ morale but also help in understanding the actual requirements of the schools.
