An incident has come to light near Amarjit Hospital in Dhariwal where a gas delivery man was surrounded and robbed of cash and a silver chain. In this connection, the Dhariwal police have registered a case against two named individuals and two unidentified persons, and have arrested one of the accused.
Investigating Officer Gurdeep Singh stated that the complainant, Ajay Kumar (son of Mukhtiyar Masih), a resident of village Dadwan, Dhariwal, works as a delivery man for Veer Gas Service near Lal Bagh, Dhariwal. On September 1, around 11:00 AM, he was returning after making a gas delivery. When he reached near Amarjit Hospital on Dadwan Road, some individuals surrounded him; after verbally abusing him, they snatched ₹19,000 (proceeds from the gas delivery) and a silver chain from his neck before fleeing the scene.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case against Sukhraj alias Sukh (son of Mukhtiyar Masih, resident of Kohaliyan, Police Station Bahrampur), Kanwal (son of Meed Masih, resident of Manepur, Police Station Kalanaur), and two unidentified persons. During the investigation, the police arrested Sukhraj Singh and recovered ₹18,000 from him. The police are conducting further investigations, and efforts are underway to arrest the remaining accused.
