BJP National Secretary Nitin Nabin met with families affected by drug abuse in Pathankot and listened to their grievances. During the visit, he expressed concern over the plight of families whose young members have fallen prey to drug addiction. In a social media post, Nabin stated that the tears of the mothers shook him deeply. He wrote that watching one’s child slowly wither away due to drug addiction is the greatest agony a mother can endure. He emphasized that the youth of Punjab cannot be allowed to sink into the abyss of addiction and urged everyone to come together to make the state drug-free.
On September 18, Nabin flagged off the BJP’s ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra’ (Drug-Free Punjab Campaign) from Madhopur in Pathankot. The campaign is scheduled to cover a distance of approximately 4,000 kilometers, reaching all 117 assembly constituencies of Punjab over a period of 13 days. It is set to conclude in Jalandhar on September 30. During the event, families affected by drug abuse shared their experiences. Highlighting the need for a collective effort against drug abuse, Nabin spoke about the importance of involving the youth and their families in this campaign.
