In an administrative reshuffle, the Uttar Pradesh government has appointed Gyanendra Singh, a promoted IAS officer of the 2014 batch, as the new District Magistrate of Ballia. According to the transfer order issued by the government, Singh previously served as the District Magistrate of Pilibhit; he has now been transferred from Pilibhit to assume responsibility for Ballia.
Gyanendra Singh possesses extensive administrative experience. Prior to his tenure as the District Magistrate of Pilibhit, he served as the Municipal Commissioner of Saharanpur. He has also held key positions, such as Joint Managing Director (MD) of the Jal Nigam. His service across various administrative roles has provided him with expertise in matters related to urban administration and development. Upon assuming charge as the District Magistrate of Ballia, he is expected to prioritize tasks related to development schemes, revenue management, law and order, and the resolution of public grievances.
His appointment is expected to accelerate various important administrative initiatives in the district. Meanwhile, the incumbent District Magistrate of Ballia, Mangala Prasad Singh, has also been transferred; the government has appointed him as the Managing Director of the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Sugar Mills Federation Limited.
