An accident happened on Friday night in Laser Valley located in Sector-10, Chandigarh. The seat belt of the swing installed here suddenly broke and builder Vikas Kumar, who was sitting in it, fell inside the swing. During this, the swing kept moving at a high speed and Vikas kept coming out of the seat and colliding here and there. He could be saved with great difficulty. After the accident, he was taken to the hospital. During this, the swing operator fled from the spot. Questions have also been raised on the police in this case.
According to the information, Vikas Kumar, a resident of Raipur Khurd, is a builder. On Friday late evening, he came to Laser Valley located in Sector-10, Chandigarh with his family. During this, he sat on a high swing with his family. During this, the seat belt of the swing broke at a height. When he fell down, his brother and other people present in the swing tried to catch him, but due to the high speed of the swing, he could not be controlled.
The operator did not hear the voice
The family members told that Vikas kept shouting to stop the swing, but the operator ignored it. When the swing stopped, the youths created a ruckus on the spot. The injured was taken to Sector-16 hospital for treatment, where doctors treated the injuries on his nose and head.
During this time, Vikas was accompanied by his cousin Abhishek, Jaswinder and friends Rajveer, Rahul Yadav and Omprakash. He told that if the seat belt had broken a few seconds later, the speed of the swing would have increased and he could have lost his life.
Seat belt broke in the first round itself
Abhishek said that there are 3 rounds in the swing and it rotates 360 degrees. The seat belt broke in the first round itself, due to which Vikas fell down from the seat. On investigation, it was found that the seat belt was attached with the help of tape, that is, it was being done completely with Jugaad. It was fortunate that the swing had a cabin, due to which Vikas fell inside. If it had been in an open swing, it would have fallen straight down and a fatal accident could have happened.
Police did not take action
Abhishek alleged that the policemen who reached the spot after the accident did not take the complaint seriously. One policeman said, “One should take care of one’s own safety, this is a minor injury.” After this another policeman came and said, take the ticket money and go. He said that many employees of the swing staff were drunk, so their medical test should have been done.
