Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on hunger strike for 93 days at Punjab-Haryana’s Khanauri border, has fallen ill. He has developed a fever after his blood pressure suddenly increased. He currently has a fever of 103 degrees.
A team of doctors is constantly monitoring him. Efforts are being made to reduce the fever by placing water strips on his head. Farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohad said that his health had deteriorated yesterday.
His blood pressure had become very high (176/107). Now he has a fever. He had appealed to the people and farmers to reach Khanauri border in large numbers so that this movement can be strengthened and won.
The program of March to Delhi on 19 March postponed
Talks between farmers and the central government have started again from February 14 after about a year. Two rounds of talks have been held. A meeting was held on the 22nd under the leadership of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The farmers had put forward their side in the meeting. The central government has asked for the facts presented by the farmers.
So that it can take opinion from its experts in this regard. After this, the farmers of Haryana and Punjab have postponed their decision on the Delhi march. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher gave this information on Monday itself. He said that now the decision to march to Delhi will be taken after March 19.
Farmer leader Jagjit Dallewal started a fast unto death by transferring property in the name of son, daughter-in-law and grandson. On 26 November 2024, Punjab Police took him into custody before the fast. But, he started the fast there itself. Under pressure from the farmers, Punjab Police released him on 1 December. Dallewal’s fast is going on since then.
The matter also reached the Supreme Court. But Dallewal refused to take medical help. There were about 10 hearings in the court regarding his health. After this, the Center invited for talks on 14 February. Then Dallewal agreed to take medical facility.
