Jesus Christ Christian religious leader Pastor Bajinder Singh will be sentenced in the rape case today. Bajinder was convicted by the Mohali court 3 days ago. After which he was sent to Patiala jail.
Bajinder is accused of taking the girl to his house on the pretext of settling her abroad. Where he raped her and made a video. He also threatened her that if she opposed him, he would put the video on social media.
This punishment is being given at a time when Bajinder Singh is involved in another sexual harassment and assault case of another woman.
1. Bajinder took the woman to his house, raped her: A case was registered against Bajinder Singh in 2018 in Zirakpur police station of Mohali in the case of rape, assault and threatening. The woman said that she wanted to settle abroad. For this, she contacted Bajinder. Bajinder took her to his Sector 63 house in Mohali. Where he raped her and made a video.
2. Arrested from Delhi airport, released on bail: After the case was registered in this case, Bajinder Singh was arrested from Delhi airport in 2018 itself. Bajinder was later released from jail on bail. Earlier this month, on March 3, the court had issued non-bailable warrants against Bajinder and 5 other accused.
3. Court acquitted 5, Bajinder convicted: On March 28, the Mohali court convicted Bajinder Singh in this case. The remaining 5 accused, pastor Jatinder Kumar and Akbar Bhatti, Rajesh Chaudhary, Sitar Ali and Sandeep Pehelwan were acquitted. One accused Suchha Singh has died during the trial.
Victim’s husband claims: Offered Rs 5 crore
After the victim’s husband filed a case in this case, Bajinder used every trick to suppress him. Cross cases were filed against him. False cases were also filed. He had to stay in Burail, Kapurthala jail. Despite this, they did not bow down to Bajinder. When things did not work out by intimidation, he started offering money. A senior officer of Bajinder came with an offer of Rs 5 crore. But, we turned him down. Now we will go to the higher court to get the acquitted people punished.
1. Pastor beats Mohali woman in Chandigarh office
The second case is of assault on a woman. Which was revealed after a video surfaced. In the video that surfaced on March 16, Bajinder Singh was seen slapping a woman. Before this, he also threw a copy on the face of this woman sitting with a child. The video that went viral was of February 14. The incident took place in Bajinder Singh’s Chandigarh office. After the video surfaced, it was found that the 40-year-old woman who was beaten up was a resident of Mohali.
She had been working with the pastor for about 13-14 years. When the video of the case went viral, the police immediately recorded the woman’s statement in the case. After which an FIR was registered against Pastor Bajinder at Majri police station under sections 74 (assault with intent to outrage the modesty of a woman), 115 (2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 351 (2) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS).
2. Sexually harassed a woman in Kapurthala, forcibly touched her, hugged her
Recently a case of sexual harassment of a woman has been registered against Bajinder Singh in Kapurthala. The woman had told the police that Pastor Bajinder Singh of ‘The Church of Glory and Wisdom’ in Tajpur village did wrong things with her in Jalandhar. Bajinder Singh took her phone number and started sending obscene messages. He started making her sit alone in a cabin in the church. In the year 2002, Bajinder Singh took her to a cabin, touched her inappropriately and hugged her.
The woman also said that Bajinder threatened her and said that if she told anyone about this, he would kill her family. On February 28, the police registered an FIR against the priest under sections 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (stalking) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. Now the Kapurthala police has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the case. Which is investigating this matter. They have also recorded the statement of the girl in this regard. Bajinder, on the other hand, rejected the allegations calling them baseless.
