In view of the increasing tension between India and Pakistan in Panchkula, Corporation Commissioner Aparajita held an emergency meeting with market associations. Corporation Joint Commissioner Simranjit Kaur and Deputy Corporation Commissioner Apoorv Chaudhary were also present in the meeting. The Corporation Commissioner has instructed all shops to close by 7 pm. Only medical stores have been allowed to remain open.

Traders have been asked to turn off all external lights and shop board lights. Mandis have to be closed by 6 pm. Citizens have to be alert as soon as the siren sounds during the blackout drill. The administration has appealed to the people to stay at home. Stay away from the windows and keep the curtains drawn. The Corporation Commissioner has appealed to the citizens to maintain peace.
