After the attack by Pakistan, the Chandigarh administration has become alert. DC Nishant Kumar Yadav has issued two orders with the aim of maintaining law and order and controlling the terror threat in the city. According to the first order issued by the DC, there is a complete ban on using any kind of firecrackers, bombs or fireworks in Chandigarh from May 9 to July 7.
This ban will also apply to weddings, religious events and any kind of celebrations. The administration says that the sounds of fireworks can create panic among the general public and create a situation of fear of drone or bomb attack, which can worsen law and order.
Strict ban on black marketing
At the same time, in the second order, the district administration has imposed a strict ban on hoarding and black marketing of food grains, fuel (petrol, diesel), medicines and other essential commodities. According to the DC, some traders and institutions are doing unauthorized hoarding of these items, which is causing artificial crisis, price rise and trouble to the common people.
The administration has ordered all wholesale and retail traders to provide information about their stock to the Food and Supplies Department of the Chandigarh Administration within three days. Any citizen can complain about hoarding, black marketing or price manipulation to the Chandigarh Administration’s Food and Supplies, Consumer Affairs and Legal Metrology Department, Sector-17, Chandigarh on number 0172-2703956.
