Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has made a sharp attack while holding a press conference on the issue of ration card being cut. He said that after being a vote thief, the BJP has now become a ration thief. CM Bhagwant Mann has accused the Central Government of cutting the ration cards of people under PDS (Public Distribution System). He said that the rules of the Central Government schemes are different for Punjab but the Center is ignoring these rules. The Chief Minister said that the Central Government is cutting the ration cards of 8 lakh 2 thousand 994 people, due to which about 32 lakh people will be deprived of free ration. He said that the Punjab Government will not let anyone’s ration be snatched.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took a sharp dig at the BJP on the issue of camps being set up by the Central Government. He said that how can the BJP take anyone’s personal data. They do not ask for any data for a scheme of Rs 1000. They do not ask for Aadhaar, PAN or ration card of any woman. He said that why is BJP constantly asking for Aadhar card, PAN card and voter card. The public itself has started making it new. They first bring their own scheme. In which first they give stove, then give a plan to build a house and later say that you have stove and house, but you are not eligible for this scheme.
The Chief Minister said that they have also fixed a criterion for cutting the ration card, in which if you have a four-wheeler, turnover of more than 25 lakhs, more than two and a half acres of land or you are doing a government job, then the ration card will be cut. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann raised the question that sometimes a brother gets a government job.
After getting a government job, he shifts to another city. What will happen to the rest of the family members? If the person in whose name the card is, has a car in his name, then what is the fault of the rest of the people. You will starve the whole family. He said that as long as Bhagwant Mann is the Chief Minister, no one’s ration card will be cut. He said that he has also written a letter to the central government. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that so far ration is being distributed to 1 crore 53 lakh beneficiaries. But he says that many of them are fake. The Punjab government has verified 1 crore 29 lakh, give time for the rest. How can they cancel the cards? He is asking for 6 months time from the central government.
