In connection with the case of fake circular trading without any transaction, 3 firms have been sealed in the city by the State GST department, which includes 2 firms of Police Line Road and one firm of village Chuharwal. In the action taken on the directions of DC Taxation (DCST) Darveer Raj, many allegations related to billing in the trade of fennel and cumin are coming to the fore, on which the department is keeping an eye. This action was carried out by 6 teams. The teams were led by Assistant Commissioner-1 Anurag Bharti. In this sequence, action was carried out under the leadership of STO Baldeep Karn Singh on M/s BS Traders of Rajindra Nagar located on Police Line Road. The said firm is registered in the name of Balbir Singh. The firm has been sealed on the spot by the department. The other firm Hanuman Traders located on Police Line Road, which is said to be in the name of Amandeep Singh, has also been sealed. This action was carried out under the leadership of STO Ashok Kumar. Similarly, under the leadership of STO Jagmal Singh, Ravindara Traders of village Chuharwal was also sealed and a notice was put up. Apart from sealing 3 firms, 4 other firms were raided and their records etc. were checked. These firms include P.R. Enterprises located in Mandi Fantanganj, K.G. Enterprises located in Mubarakpur Sheikh, A.P. Industrial Corporation and R.S. Traders of Industrial Estate (Dhadda). STO Arshdeep Singh, Okar Nath, Jaswinder Pal were among those who conducted the investigation on these firms. It has been told that most of these traders are associated with the business of cumin and fennel. During the investigation, the department has seized the records of many firms, which will be investigated. Officials said that no one came to the sealed firms. Due to this, the department has sealed them by putting up a notice, the action is still going on.
Notice to appear on August 26 to the sealed firms
Officials said that the action has been taken under Section 67 (4) of the Punjab GST Act, 2017 and Central GST Act 2017 in the order of sealing. In the notice issued to the sealed firms, they have been asked to appear in Room No. 1 (3rd floor) of GST Bhawan on August 26. Officials said that if the persons related to the said firm do not appear, further action will be taken.
Strict vigil on those who commit fraud: DC Darveer Raj
Deputy Commissioner Excise Darveer Raj said that the department is keeping a close watch on those who commit fraud in tax payment. Every firm should work according to the rules, otherwise appropriate action will be taken by the department.
