Trades selling firecrackers this Diwali have been facing difficulties for the past several days. The administration had previously selected a temporary location for the firecracker market, but some political figures in the city created obstacles and had it cancelled. Firecracker traders had been struggling for several days, but now, thanks to the efforts of former MLA Krishna Dev Bhandari, their problems have been resolved.
To this end, Bhandari held several meetings with administrative and police officials, presenting the traders’ demands and seeking their cooperation. After a series of meetings, the administration agreed to set up a temporary market for wholesale firecracker sales at the Circus Wali Ground near Pathankot Chowk. The corporation also issued a NOC in this regard, providing significant relief to firecracker traders.
It is noteworthy that every year a temporary market for the sale of firecrackers used to be set up in Bolton Park, but this time construction work for a sports hub is underway there. Therefore, the administration has now chosen the Circus Wali Ground near Pathankot Chowk for the sale of firecrackers. On this occasion, Krishna Dev Bhandari said that he would continue to strive to resolve the problems of the traders. He asked the administrative officials to take immediate steps to resolve the problems of the firecracker traders. After the meeting, the firecracker traders expressed their gratitude to Krishna Dev Bhandari.
