Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Badal has strongly condemned Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Raja Warring for inappropriately touching the turbans (kesh) of Sikh children. Sukhbir Badal stated that Raja Warring touched the turbans of Sikh children while making derogatory remarks. Sukhbir Badal wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that disrespecting and mocking the Sikh community is becoming a common practice among Congress party leaders. He said that Guru Sahib bestowed the invaluable gift of hair (kesh) upon the Sikh community, and kesh is one of the five Kakaars given to Sikhs by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj.
He further stated that it is unfortunate that despite being born in Punjab, Congress Punjab President Raja Warring does not understand the importance of hair and turbans for Sikhs. The way Warring made derogatory remarks and touched the turbans of two Sikh children in Tarn Taran Sahib is an insult to these matters and the blessings bestowed by Guru Sahib, and it has deeply hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community. Sukhbir Badal said that he strongly condemns this and requests the Jathedar Singh Sahib Ji of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to take serious cognizance of this and take strict action against him.
Sukhbir further added that he also wants to bring to your attention that recently, Raja Warring grossly insulted the Dalit community by using abusive language, and the very next day, other senior leaders of the Congress party also insulted Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji and Bhai Jivan Singh Ji during election campaigning. All these incidents point towards a well-planned conspiracy, and all Punjabis need to be vigilant about it.
