Due to the leave of a sub-registrar at the East Tehsil located in Transport Nagar, people who came to register their property faced significant difficulties, forcing many to return without completing their registration. Due to the leave of Sub-Registrar Angrez Singh in the East Tehsil, people who had made appointments for registration on Monday faced significant difficulties, while another Sub-Registrar, Varun Chhabra, refused to register their property on Angrez Singh’s appointment.
Registrations were conducted by merging IDs after people created a ruckus in the Tehsil.
Following the massive uproar caused by many people at the Tehsil, Sub-Registrar Varun Chhabra merged the ID of the leaved Sub-Registrar Angrez Singh with his own ID, after which registrations for those who had made appointments on Monday began.
People said the district administration should have made arrangements. Advocate Laveen Mehra, who arrived at the scene, explained that he had made an urgent appointment for the registration, which was scheduled for 10 a.m. with Sub-Registrar Angrez Singh. However, his registration was not completed due to Singh’s leave. The government has set a fee of ₹5,000 for urgent registrations, but two of his registrations were not processed today, resulting in him having to pay the penalty for the appointments he made. If Sub-Registrar Angrez Singh was going on leave, the district administration should have informed him in advance and assigned a new Sub-Registrar to the tehsil.
