Ludhiana, among 24 locations in Punjab, set a record, delighting residents.

Date:

The distribution of free wheat to 17 million members, representing approximately 4 million cardholders across Punjab, under the central government’s “Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana,” is underway at a war footing through the state’s 18,500 ration depots.

To ensure that the government’s valuable scheme reaches every household, officers and employees of the Food and Supplies Department are working at ground zero to ensure that no poor or needy family under the scheme is left without the benefit of free wheat. According to information provided by Food and Supplies Department officials, eligible families are currently receiving free wheat for three months, from October 1st to December 31st. Madam Shifali Chopra, Controller of the Food and Supplies Department, Ludhiana East Circle, stated that if any depot holder does not provide ration card holders with their full share of wheat, the family should file a complaint with the Food and Supplies Department to ensure that each family receives the full wheat benefit and appropriate departmental action is taken against the depot holder.

According to data released by the Food and Supplies Department, among 24 different locations across Punjab, the East Circle of Ludhiana district, under the leadership of Controller Shifali Chopra, has once again topped the list in terms of delivering the full share of wheat to ration card holders’ kitchens, a significant achievement. It is noteworthy that the circle has consistently held the top spot for a long time in terms of delivering the wheat share to beneficiary families under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, as well as in the procurement of paddy and wheat in the district.
