If you’ve been waiting for “Dhurandhar,” this is especially for you. In fact, many will no longer be allowed to watch the film. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has issued an “A” certificate to the highly anticipated film “Dhurandhar,” directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh. Following the board’s approval, the film is scheduled to release in theaters on its scheduled date, December 5th.
The CBFC clarified in its certification that the film’s subject matter is dark, intense, and mature. Furthermore, due to several violent scenes, it is only suitable for audiences aged 18 and above. The film’s runtime, synopsis, and other details have also been released on the board’s website, including some necessary cuts and changes.
17-Year Record Broken
The film was certified on December 2nd. Its total runtime is 214.1 minutes (3 hours 34 minutes 1 second). With this duration, ‘Dhurandhar’ has become the longest Bollywood film in the last 17 years. Previously, this record was held by Ashutosh Gowariker’s 2008 film ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ (3 hours 33 minutes).
The CBFC made several changes before certifying the film:
Adding a Hindi disclaimer voice
Including warnings against drug and cigarette use
Toning down the intensity of violence in some scenes
Muting profanities
Changing the name of a minister’s character
Removing the opening violent scene and adding other visuals
Including additional scenes and music in the end credits
