Punjab’s weather is poised to take a turn once again. Over the next few days, the impact of rainfall is expected to be felt across most parts of the state. Additionally, a storm alert has been issued for several districts. Consequently, temperatures across the state are expected to drop, offering residents relief from the heat. The Meteorological Department has issued district-wise weather warnings for Punjab covering the period from March 29 to April 1, 2026. According to this warning, various parts of the state are likely to experience lightning, thunderstorms, and rainfall over the next three days, with wind speeds potentially reaching between 40 and 60 kilometers per hour.
Weather conditions are expected to be particularly disruptive on March 29 and 30, for which an ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued for several districts—signaling that residents need to exercise caution. The Meteorological Department has not issued any specific warnings for March 31 and April 1; conditions across the entire state are expected to remain normal on these days.
The Meteorological Department has appealed to farmers and the general public to take necessary precautions in light of these changing weather patterns. Specific advice has been issued to take special care of standing crops in the fields and to avoid open spaces during periods of strong winds or lightning.
