The political atmosphere has heated up following the departure of seven Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MPs, who subsequently joined the BJP. With the induction of these seven MPs, the BJP’s tally in the Rajya Sabha is set to rise to 113. Against this backdrop, questions are being raised regarding the claims made by Arvind Kejriwal. Meanwhile, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh has launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party.
Chugh stated that the questions raised by these individuals reflect the true conduct and character of the Aam Aadmi Party. He noted that those who served as the “cornerstones” during the party’s inception—the very people who spearheaded the “India Against Corruption” movement—have now exited the party. Neither Arvind Kejriwal nor Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has offered any answers to the questions raised by these former members. Tarun Chugh further alleged that, today, Arvind Kejriwal has cast aside ideals and morality, utilizing the Aam Aadmi Party merely as a tool to seize power.
Chugh went on to assert that a prevailing sentiment exists across the entire nation that the Aam Aadmi Party has abandoned its core moral values. The people of Punjab are now asking: “Who are the traitors?” They point to those who made promises to Punjab only to forget them—specifically, those who pledged in March 2022 to provide a monthly allowance of ₹1,000, yet here we are in 2026, and not a single penny has reached the home of any woman. They question whether those who vowed to eradicate the drug menace have simply forgotten their pledge, or if they are, in fact, the traitors; and they ask about those who resolved to govern Punjab based on the rule of law, yet have today become the ringleaders of a gangster-mafia regime.
Chugh concluded by saying, “The situation has deteriorated to such an extent that the very party which came to power on the promise of ‘change’—specifically its MLAs, leaders, and ministers—are now running ‘torture centers’ out of their own homes. Their sole agenda has become determining who gets which tender, and how much bribe money can be extracted from which region. This is the new modus operandi that the Aam Aadmi Party has unleashed upon Punjab today.” Therefore, following the departure of these seven MPs from the Aam Aadmi Party, the entire state of Punjab has come to realize how Bhagwant Mann and Kejriwal have been exploiting the state over the past four years.
