Several areas of Punjab are set to experience a prolonged power cut tomorrow—Saturday. The Punjab Electricity Department will suspend power supply in various locations to facilitate essential repair and maintenance work. Prior notice regarding this has already been issued in the affected cities, and specific timings have been established. In many localities, the power outage will commence in the morning hours, and supply is expected to remain disrupted for several hours.
**Ferozepur (Kumar):** Essential maintenance work is scheduled on the Ferozepur 220 kV Railway Traction ‘Khai Fame’ line. Consequently, the power supply to all 11 kV feeders originating from the 66 kV substations at Jhok Hari Har, Tibbi Khurd, Pozo Ke, Ferozepur City, and FCI Ferozepur will remain suspended on May 30th, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
**Patiala (Josan):** Engineer Gurpinder Singh, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Sanaur, provided information stating that essential maintenance work will be carried out on the 11 kV Urban Ghalori and 11 kV Urban Nanaksar feeders—originating from the 66 kV Grid in Sanaur—on May 30th, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. This maintenance is being undertaken with the upcoming paddy season in mind. As a result, the power supply will be affected in areas connected to these feeders, including Cheema Colony, Chora Road, Ghalori, Chhota Rai Majra, Gopal Colony, Sunny Enclave, Sant Hazara Singh Nagar, Udham Singh Colony, Jorian Sadkan, Cheeka Road, Dhillon Farmhouse, and Sandhu Farm, among others.
**Doraha (Vinayak):** According to a press note issued by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), Urban Sub-Division, Doraha, the power supply in several areas of the Doraha region will be temporarily suspended on May 30, 2026, to facilitate essential repair and maintenance work.
Providing further details, departmental officials stated that the 220 kV… Essential repairs and technical maintenance work will be carried out on the 11 kV City Doraha, 11 kV Satnam Nagar, and Dr. Soni feeders, which originate from the Doraha Sub-station. Consequently, the power supply will remain affected from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
During this period, the power supply will be suspended for areas falling under the Urban Doraha Sub-division—including Main Bazaar, Sidhu Hospital Road, Guru Nanak Pura Mohalla, Railway Road, Boparai Road, Lakri Mandi, Kailash Nagar, Vishwakarma Road, Jaildar Mohalla, Kaddo Road, Adhaichan Road, Purana Bazaar, Valmiki Mohalla, Satnam Nagar, and Bajigar Basti—as well as for the industrial and other sectors connected to these feeders.
The Assistant Executive Engineer-cum-Sub-Divisional Officer (Urban) of Doraha appealed to the residents for their cooperation, advising them to complete their essential tasks in advance to avoid facing any inconvenience during the power outage. He further stated that the power supply would be restored once the repair work is completed.
The Electricity Department has informed that, subject to technical reasons or prevailing weather conditions, the scheduled duration of the power outage may be reduced, extended, or altered.
