Dharmpreet Singh, son of Khokha Singh and a resident of Amargarh village near Goniana, Bathinda, passed away while undergoing treatment. His family alleges that Dharmpreet consumed a poisonous spray due to harassment by his wife. The family has now demanded that the administration take strict action against the accused and ensure her immediate arrest.
The deceased’s father, Khokha Singh, and his brother stated that Dharmpreet’s wife had been mentally harassing him for a long time and demanding ₹25 lakh. According to them, this caused Dharmpreet constant stress. He consumed the poisonous spray about 15 days ago. The family also claims that after consuming the spray, Dharmpreet released a video holding his wife responsible for his death. He succumbed while undergoing treatment. According to the family, a complaint was lodged with the police on the day of the incident itself, but the accused woman was not arrested. Meanwhile, the toxic substance spread throughout his body. After receiving treatment at various hospitals, he was brought to Sukhmani Nursing Home when doctors could no longer offer hope; he passed away there during treatment. The deceased’s father and brother have urged the administration to arrest the accused immediately and ensure justice for the family.
