In Gangacholi village, under the Kotwali police station area, a man called his 15-year-old brother-in-law—an eighth-grade student named Jitendra—out of school and critically injured him by stabbing him repeatedly. Alerted by the screams, neighbors apprehended the accused and handed him over to the police. After receiving first aid, the student has been referred to a higher medical center.
Kailash Singh, a resident of Gangacholi village in the Kotwali area, has been ill due to paralysis. His family includes his wife Neeraj Devi, three daughters, and a 15-year-old son, Jitendra. He has already married off his two elder daughters.
On Tuesday, a naming ceremony was held for the son of Kailash’s nephew, Dinesh, attended by all relatives. Jitendra studies in the eighth grade at a private school in the village; he had gone to school on Friday.
Around 11:00 AM, his son-in-law, Naresh Kumar—a resident of Sutari (under Saidanagli police station)—arrived at the school. He told the teacher that Jitendra was his brother-in-law and that he needed to take him home to fetch a key.
The teacher allowed the student to go with him. About 30 meters away from the school, the brother-in-law stabbed the boy multiple times, inflicting wounds on various parts of his body, including his abdomen. Family members hurriedly took the injured boy to the Kotwali police station.
The police admitted him to the Community Health Center. Observing his critical condition, the doctor referred him to the District Hospital. Circle Officer (CO) Pankaj Kumar Tyagi stated that the accused is being interrogated regarding the stabbing incident, and legal action will be taken.
