A Mahapanchayat of Qaumi Insaaf Morcha is being held on Saturday on the Chandigarh-Mohali border for the release of Sikh prisoners who are still in jails even after completing their sentence. Many Jathedars from Haryana, Punjab and other states have also reached there. A large number of police force and contingents of other agencies have been deployed on the border for the Mahapanchayat.
Apart from this, SSP Kanwaldeep Kaur of Chandigarh Police and IG Rajkumar are also present on the border since morning. Chandigarh Police has deployed a large number of jawans on all the borders entering the city so that no protester can enter the city.
A tractor rally will be taken out in Chandigarh on January 26 by Qaumi Insaaf Morcha. The Morcha said that even if an attempt is made, it will be difficult to stop us.
The protesters had entered Chandigarh on January 7

On the same day, Insaaf Morcha had announced that a Mahapanchayat would be called again on the Morcha on January 25, in which further strategy would be prepared for the release of Sikh prisoners.
On Friday late night, in view of the Mahapanchayat, the Chandigarh Police had closed the road leading to the Morcha with tippers filled with soil and barricades. A large number of police personnel are deployed on the front so that this time, unlike before, no protester is allowed to enter Chandigarh. Along with this, police personnel are also deployed on all the roads entering Chandigarh from Mohali and barricading has also been done by the police.
