Aam Aadmi Party candidates have filed their nominations in the Finance and Contract Committee in Chandigarh. There is a buzz that Poonam, who is angry in the party’s mayor elections, has filed her nomination as an independent candidate. AAP has denied it outright. According to AAP spokesperson, they have called it a rumour.
While AAP spokesperson Yogesh Dhingra and councillor Suman Devi have also filed their names. There were some reports that Poonam is going to file her nomination as an independent candidate. While party spokesperson Yogesh has clarified that there is no such provision where a candidate can submit his name without the signature of a proposer and seconder of any party.
He also told that there were chances of some changes in the party regarding these names, but the previous mayor Kuldeep Kumar has recommended Poonam’s name. Now it has to be seen that if Poonam has submitted her name as an independent candidate, then who is her proposer and seconder.
Councillors Jasman Preet Singh and Saurabh Joshi have filed their nominations from BJP.
The results of these elections will be declared on February 7 at the MC office. Then it will be seen how much benefit Aam Aadmi Party gets from these names.
While no name has been announced from Congress yet. But it is certain that Taruna Mehta has become Deputy Mayor and Jasbir Singh Bunty Senior Deputy Mayor, so apart from these, any two of the four people who have children can be the names.
