Most of the veins of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is on a hunger strike for 13 demands including legal guarantee of MSP on crops, have been blocked. He has been on hunger strike for 75 days, and has stopped taking medical help.
Doctors say that for the last 6 days, he is facing difficulty in putting drips because his veins are not available. Most of the veins of the hand are blocked, so efforts are being made to put drips in the veins of his legs.
Meanwhile, a farmer engaged in serving Dallewal met with an accident. He has been admitted to PGI Chandigarh. At the same time, memorandums will be submitted to the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs across the country on behalf of the United Kisan Morcha against the agricultural marketing policy draft of the central government.
After wedding cards, now the farmers’ movement echoed on DJ as well
Apart from this, appeals are being made from different platforms to join the farmers’ movement in Punjab and Haryana. The photo of farmer leader Dallewal is being printed on wedding cards. Now the farmers’ movement is being spread on DJs as well.
Farmer leaders are going to weddings and giving the message to people to gather in support of the farmers on Shambhu and Khanauri fronts. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher had some time ago appealed to Punjabi singers, artists and DJ operators to make people aware about the farmers’ movement from the stage wherever they have programs. Since then, many singers have also joined the movement.
At the same time, in the fourth phase of Jal Yatra, farmers of Haryana will reach Khanauri front today with water from the tubewells of the fields.
Farmer’s accident, referred to PGI
Fatehgarh Sahib farmer Charanjit Singh Kala, who served farmer leader Dallewal, had an accident on Friday. He was referred to PGI in critical condition, but he could not get a ventilator there. Leaders of both the fronts have expressed displeasure over this.
This is how the farmer movement will go on next week
The farmers are going to have a meeting with the central government in Chandigarh on Friday, February 14 this week. Before this, the farmers are in the mood to intensify the movement. Farmers will show their strength by organizing 3 big mahapanchayats before the movement.
On February 11, farmers will protest outside the Ferozepur SSP office. Because, a case has been registered against the farmers in the security lapse case during the Prime Minister’s visit to Punjab in 2022, which the farmer leaders are calling wrong.
On the other hand, a mahapanchayat will be held on the Ratanpura front on the same day. There are preparations for a mahapanchayat on Khanauri on February 12 and Shambhu border on February 13. Dallewal has also given a message to the people three times from the stage to join the mahapanchayat.
The movement started in February last year
On February 13 last year, the farmers started their movement with 13 demands including MSP of crops. Because, the Lok Sabha elections were to be held at that time. In such a situation, the central government showed readiness in the beginning. Also, senior leaders including the then Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda were sent to Chandigarh.
He held a meeting with farmer leaders in Sector-26. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann was also present in these meetings. This meeting continued till 2 o’clock late night, but when the farmers were not heard, they decided to go to Delhi, but the Haryana government stopped the farmers at the border by putting up barricades.
The case is going on in the Supreme Court, so far it has been heard 10 times
The Haryana government had argued that the farmers have modified their tractors. If the farmers come forward, the atmosphere of the state will deteriorate. During this, young farmer Shubkaran Singh died in a clash between the police and the farmers at the Khanauri border. However, when the farmers stopped there, the connection between Punjab and Haryana was lost from both those routes. Due to this, the businessmen started incurring losses.
After this, the matter reached the Punjab and Haryana High Court. On July 10, when the High Court ordered the Haryana government to open the barricades, the government went to the Supreme Court. After that the Supreme Court constituted a high power committee in this matter. So far, about 10 hearings have been held in this case.
