Factionalism among Congress leaders in Haryana is not stopping. Kumari Selja and Bhupendra Singh Hooda factions are face to face over contesting on symbol in the urban body elections. Meanwhile, changes have been made once again in the officials appointed for the urban body elections. Jitendra Baghel and Praful Patel have replaced the previous officials in many districts.
After Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha, factionalism is at its peak in Haryana Congress leaders in urban body elections. Congress General Secretary Kumari Selja’s faction is in favour of contesting all urban body elections on symbol, while leaders of former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda’s faction have decided to contest only municipal corporation elections on symbol.
Amidst the infighting among Congress leaders, the officials appointed for urban body elections have been changed once again. Earlier, Congress in-charge Deepak Babaria had appointed district in-charge, co-in-charge, district coordinator and co-convenor and zone-wise officials.
Now provincial co-in-charges Jitendra Baghel and Praful Patel have released an additional list of officials for urban body elections only.
These leaders released a new list of officials
In the list announced by Jitendra Baghel and Praful Patel, changes have been made in the previous officials in many districts. Whether the elections of Nagar Parishad and Nagar Palika will be fought on symbol or not, this decision will be taken by both the co-in-charges of Congress. They have to announce their decision after discussing with state in-charge Deepak Babaria. The special thing is that state president Chaudhary Udaybhan has also released a list of district in-charges and co-in-charges, which state in-charge Deepak Babaria has rejected and banned.
Congress MP had raised questions on Babaria’s list
When Deepak Babaria released the new list on his own, the state president was not taken into confidence. Congress MP Varun Mullana had raised questions on this list of Babaria and advised to form a complete organization of Congress. Now to remove the displeasure of the Hooda faction with the state president, the co-in-charges have released the list of additional officials.
Babaria had declared Udaybhan’s list illegal
Recently, a similar list was released by Haryana Congress in-charge Chaudhary Udaybhan, but in-charge Deepak Babaria had declared that list illegal and invalid, after which he has now released new lists
In these lists, the leaders and workers of former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda’s camp alone did not dominate. While making the lists, along with Hooda, the leaders supporting Kumari Selja and Randeep Surjewala were also taken into consideration. Most of the leaders who did not get tickets in the assembly elections or lost the elections due to any reason were also adjusted in various committees.
