Lakhs of youth waiting for the Combined Eligibility Test (CET) required for recruitment to Group C and Group D posts in Haryana will have to wait till the civic elections.
Teams of Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) have visited the entire state and selected the examination centers, but due to the release of the schedule of 10th and 12th examinations, the date of CET is not being announced yet.
Youth’s wait for CET may increase
Youth’s wait for CET may increase due to municipal elections (Haryana Local Body Elections) and board examinations. Urban body elections are on March 2 and March 9 in Haryana, due to which the election code of conduct is in place in most of the districts of the state.
If HSSC announces the examination schedule during the election code of conduct, then the opposition parties can make it an issue and go to the court. Earlier, during the assembly elections, the Congress had also gone to the court to stop the results of about 25 thousand recruitments.
The government had claimed in the High Court to conduct CET in 2024
In such a situation, the commission or the government do not want to take any kind of risk. The problem of the youth is that CET is constantly being postponed in the state. Earlier, the Haryana government had claimed in the High Court that CET would be conducted in December 2024.
The commission issued guidelines for examination centers
HSSC is considering making schools, colleges, university campuses, technical universities, NITs, polytechnics, ITIs, B.Ed colleges as examination centers. Along with this, the examination centers will not be located in crowded areas.
Lighting and furniture arrangements and roll number display boards have been seen in the classrooms. Only 24 candidates will be able to sit in an examination center. If possible, only one candidate will be seated at a desk.
