Arijit Singh Concert: All arrangements went down, people struggled with heavy traffic jam; the noise was so intense that neither the patients could sleep nor the children could study

Date:

Singer Arijit Singh’s live concert started at 6 pm. The show went on till 10 pm. Due to the four-hour show, people had to face problems the whole Sunday.

The entire system was shaken by Bollywood singer Arijit Singh’s four-hour live concert in Panchkula. Due to the concert, many main roads of the city were closed for ten hours. Due to this, people had to face traffic jams on the roads.

The live concert was to start at 6 pm, but all the arrangements of the police and administration failed after 4 pm. Due to this four-hour long show, the police had closed all the roads around Panchkula Sector-5 10 hours in advance, while the show started at 6 pm and continued till 10 pm.

Windows and glasses shook due to the sound of DJ

At the same time, the windows and glasses of people’s houses were seen shaking due to the sound of DJ from 4 pm to 10 pm. The sound of the DJ of this live concert was so loud that it became difficult for around 25-30 thousand people of Sector-5, 8, 9, 6, 10 including the patients of Civil Hospital to stay in their homes for 4 hours. People were seen fighting among themselves to go from the entry gate made in front of the stage to the parking. Those who did not get a place in the parking had to park their vehicles on the roadside and go inside.

People said – such events should not be organized in the middle of the population

The roads leading to the market of Sector-8, 9 and 10 of Panchkula were closed by the police by putting up barricades. At the same time, the petrol pump of Sector-5 also remained closed for the whole day. Due to this, the people of the sectors and the surrounding areas had to face trouble. Local people allege that before organizing such events in the middle of dense population, the police and administration should also think about the facilities of the public.

No parking space, vehicles parked on roads

Due to lack of proper parking arrangements for the people who came for the show, they had to park their vehicles on the roads. There was inconvenience in parking everywhere. Due to this, drivers were stuck in traffic jams for hours at many intersections after the show. Let us tell you that a day before on Saturday, a rehearsal was done by the police to ensure smooth security and traffic. Despite this, the police harassed the people throughout the day.

On Sunday, drivers coming from Chandigarh roamed around the city for several hours due to lack of information about the route. Patients and attendants going to Sector-6 Civil Hospital also faced problems due to the closure of the route from 12 noon. They had to reach the hospital by covering a long distance through other routes.

Security arrangements were dependent on 300 soldiers

The police administration had deployed more than 300 soldiers to handle the responsibility of security arrangements for this show, but all the arrangements to gather a crowd of more than 15 thousand failed, because twice the number of people had arrived. On one hand, while people arrived to see the concert, on the other hand, there was chaos due to the crowd of fans who had gathered to see the singer. There was a lot of ruckus between the security personnel deployed for security and the audience. From the beginning of the show to its end, there was a situation of jam around the fair ground.

Fans kept trying to enter the live concert

As soon as the entry to see the live concert started at six in the evening, the crowd of fans standing outside also rushed to see the singer. Within no time, a crowd of thousands of youth gathered. At the same time, to get a glimpse of Arijit Singh, some were seen trying to climb the walls, while some kept trying to see him by standing on top of the vehicle. The policemen deployed for security seemed unsuccessful in controlling the enthusiasm of the people.

The people living nearby told about their problems

The windows and glasses of the house were shaking due to the loud sound of the DJ. It seemed that the glasses would break. The sound was so loud that it became difficult to stay in the house. The administration should not have allowed such events to take place in densely populated areas. They should be held outside the city. People in our own sector remained locked in their homes the whole day due to the event. -Bharat Hitashi, resident of Sector-10 Panchkula

Faced trouble for four hours due to loud sound

On Sunday, we kept facing trouble for four hours from 4 pm to 10 pm due to the loud sound of the DJ. The sound was so loud that it became very difficult for the elderly to stay in the house. Due to the blockage of the roads, we remained locked in the house the whole day. We were troubled during the rehearsal on Saturday evening also. People had to face trouble the whole day on Sunday also. -Tarsem Garg, local resident

Administration should be cautious in future

Administration should be cautious about organizing such big events in the middle of the city. Such events should be organized outside the city and not in the middle of sectors. There is no parking space in the market. People are forced to park their vehicles on the sides of the roads around the fair ground. Administration should have realized that people will be troubled by such a big event. -Naval Kumar, resident of Sector-8 Panchkula

Administration gave permission without thinking

On Sunday morning, the petrol pumps around the fair ground were closed by the police. Due to this, not a single customer could reach the petrol pump. People of all the nearby sectors also faced a lot of problems due to the closure of the road. The administration did not plan it properly, without thinking, it gave permission to organize such a big event in the middle of the city. This is sheer negligence. -Vijay Rawat, employee, Sector-8 petrol pump

Exams are going on, studies affected

Everyone knows that the board exams of 10th and 12th class children are going on. Children have exams on Monday too, while on Sunday the show has been conducted at such a high volume. By organizing such events, the administration has put school children in trouble. Due to the loud sound of the DJ, children have not been able to study since morning. At the same time, it has become difficult for the people of nearby sectors including the patients admitted in the hospital to stay at home. -Rakesh Agarwal, Vikas Manch Panchkula.
