A case of lapse in the security of Haryana CM Naib Saini and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has come to light in Chandigarh. The convoy of both of them stood on the road for 15 minutes at midnight. This is the same area where the car of Panipat MLA was set on fire 4 years ago.
After some time, the convoy opened the gate and went towards Haryana Bhawan. Haryana CID has now become alert about this. Investigation has been started into the matter of lapse regarding the convoy. However, the officials are not saying anything openly in this matter.
An official associated with the state intelligence said that it is being investigated secretly. At the same time, the Haryana government has also asked the Chandigarh Police officials to investigate the matter of not getting the route cleared earlier.
CM Saini was going to drop Khattar
Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had come to Chandigarh on Wednesday night. He had gone to Sant Kabir Kutir, the official residence of Haryana CM in Chandigarh along with CM Naib Saini. Khattar had to return to Haryana Niwas at around 11 pm. After this, CM Naib Saini also left for Haryana Niwas to drop him.
The gate was found closed as the convoy turned towards Haryana Niwas
When his convoy turned towards Haryana Niwas while coming from Uttar Marg, the gate in front of Punjab Bhawan was closed. The key of this gate is with the guard of Punjab Bhawan. Whenever a VIP comes, he opens the gate. After crossing Punjab Bhawan here, Haryana Niwas comes ahead. Probably due to lack of prior information, the guard was not at the gate at that time.
After 15 minutes, the guard was found and the gate was opened
After this, the convoy of CM and Union Minister Khattar started waiting for the gate to open there. During this, the vehicle in which both the leaders were travelling was covered by the security personnel. After this, their security personnel started searching for the guard. According to government sources, the guard was found after about 15 minutes. He was called and the gate was opened. Then the convoy went inside.
The place where the convoy stopped is a sensitive zone
The place where the convoy of CM Saini and the Union Minister stopped for 15 minutes is a sensitive zone. The reason for this is that the CM House, Vidhan Sabha, Secretariat and Punjab and Haryana High Court are also at a short distance from here. Apart from this, there is also an MLA hostel nearby.
Chandigarh Police also reached on information
At the same time, when the convoy of the CM stopped, the information about this immediately reached the Chandigarh Police. After which police teams from there also reached there. However, questions are also being raised as to why the Chandigarh Police did not clear the route first at the time of departure of the CM and the Union Minister.
Security was increased after Vij’s car caught fire
In December 2021, the car of BJP MLA Pramod Vij from Panipat was set on fire by some miscreant. At that time his car was parked outside the MLA hostel. After this incident, the then speaker of Haryana Assembly, Gyan Chand Gupta, had expressed his displeasure. He had also ordered to deploy additional forces here.
Why did the guard of Punjab Bhawan have the key?
Actually, Punjab Bhawan comes first when you enter from this gate. Due to this, on 26 January, the Punjab and Haryana government had a meeting with the Chandigarh administration. In this meeting, it was decided that the gate of this road adjoining Punjab Bhawan will be kept closed at night. The responsibility of opening and closing its lock was given to the guard of Punjab Bhawan. Due to this, the guard locked the gate and went somewhere.
Z Plus security for both the leaders
Haryana CM and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar have been given Z Plus security. In Z Plus security, more than 10 NSG commandos and 55 trained soldiers including police personnel are deployed. The Security Assessment Committee keeps assessing the security of the people of the state from time to time. Therefore, a decision is taken to reduce or increase the security of a person.
