21 IPS officers were transferred
The administrative reforms department was taken back from Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and resignations were sought from all the officials of the Advocate General Department who fight the government’s cases. 21 IPS officers including the police chiefs of nine districts have been transferred.
AG’s team asked to resign by Monday
Earlier it was being said that all the lawyers from Advocate General to the bottom have been asked to resign but later it became clear that only AG’s team has been asked to resign by Monday. Out of a total team of 236 people, 62 people have already sent their resignations. Eight people have been appointed in AG’s team for the cases to be fought in the Supreme Court. These include five advocates on record and three deputy advocate generals.
Advocate General Gurinder Singh Gary said that the tenure of all of them had ended on February 10. They will be reappointed after orientation. It has been learned that a new team of Advocate General will be formed in the next 15 days.
Important departments taken away from Cabinet Minister Dhaliwal
It is worth noting that gradually all the important departments have been taken away from Cabinet Minister Dhaliwal. Earlier he also had the departments of Agriculture and Rural Development and Panchayat but now he is left with only the department of NRI affairs.
Lawyers said- Delhi lawyers will be adjusted
There is a discussion going on among the senior advocate general, additional advocate general, deputy advocate general and other officials from whom resignations have been sought that after losing the Delhi elections, the lawyers there will also be adjusted in Punjab, that is why resignations have been sought from them. There is also resentment among them regarding this.
