In Chandigarh, people are forced to leave their work and visit police stations, beat boxes and police headquarters to get their police verification done. Some need character certificate for jobs, while others need verification for other work.
Police verification of more than 1300 people is pending. Out of these, 1200 are online and around 125 are manual police verifications. Most importantly, the police is not taking the verification of tenants and servants seriously. Gangsters and terrorists in Chandigarh are involved in some crime or the other, despite this, the condition of Chandigarh Police is such that it is not getting the servants and tenants living in the city verified on time. However, there is a provision of action against the landlord for not getting the verification done. Verification of many people is pending since December and January. According to sources, people living in the colony face more problems for verification.
Sources said that the responsibility of doing the verification lies with the police beat boxes and inclusion centers. Although the inclusion centers are doing the verifications rapidly, but due to the negligence of the beat box policemen, the verifications are pending. The maximum verifications are pending under Sarangpur police station and Sector-34 police station.
What is the difference between online and manual verification
In online, passport, character certificate, servant, tenant and other verifications are applied online. Apart from this, the verifications to be done manually come from the DC office. These include marriage, arms license, verification of government, private employees and others. In this, verification of about 40 arms licenses, 50 marriages and about 120 employees are pending.
Nobody called for two months, could not get the job
Kishangarh resident Shanti Negi told that she had applied for the job of a security guard. For this, she needed a character certificate. Character certificate was to be received after police verification. She had applied online for character certificate two months ago, but till now she has not received anyone’s call. Due to this, she could not get the job of a security guard. Now she has got a job at another place in the industrial area.
