Cheque bounce case of Rs 7 crore
A cheque bounce case of Rs 7 crore is going on against him. The police produced him in the court, from where he has been sent to jail in judicial custody. Giving information about the case, Vikas Sagar, the lawyer of Shri Naina Plastic Company, said that Jalta Company had taken material worth seven crores from his company.
To make its payment, seven cheques of one crore rupees each were given to the company in 2018. When the company deposited these cheques in the bank, they bounced due to lack of money in the account.
The complainant company informed Jalta Company about this, but after two months when the cheques were not cleared, a legal notice was given against the company and directors and demanded payment within 15 days. When the company did not make the payment even after the legal notice, they filed a case of cheque bounce.
The case was registered in September 2023
On the complaint given by the company, a case was registered on 25 September 2023 against Delhi’s Jalta Food and Beverages and its three directors Vinod Sehwag, Vishnu Mittal and Sudhir Malhotra. Last year, the lower court had summoned the three directors including Vinod Sehwag to appear in court as accused in the case.
But now he has filed a revision petition in the sessions court against the summoning order of the court. Sehwag’s brother said in the revision petition that the decision to make him an accused is wrong. He is neither a director nor an employee in this company.
Ready to appear on every date: Vinod Sehwag
Vinod Sehwag’s lawyer said in the bail application that he is not a director in Jalta Food and Beverages Company. Seven cases of check bounce are going on against him, against which he has filed a petition in the Supreme Court. He was not deliberately absent from the court proceedings.
He was exercising his legal rights. He said that he is now ready to appear on every date, so he should be granted regular bail. The other accused in this case have already got bail. Therefore, it would not be right to keep him in jail for more days.
