Haryana CM Naib Singh Saini advised Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. CM Saini said- I would like to tell the Chief Minister of Punjab that you should work to strengthen the farmers. Do not use lathi on them. I am a farmer’s son. I know what is the pain of the farmer? How do they work in the field?
CM Saini was talking to journalists in Chandigarh on Thursday. Let us tell you that on Wednesday, the AAP government of Punjab did not allow the farmers to march to Chandigarh. Even before that, the police started arresting farmer leaders.
At the same time, a day before this, CM Bhagwant Mann had an argument with the farmers in a meeting. After this, he got up and left from the middle of the meeting.
1. Punjab Chief Minister provokes farmers
CM Saini was asked that the farmers of Punjab are saying that the Haryana government is giving MSP on all crops, so the Punjab government should also do the same. On this, CM Naib Saini said- I am saying this again and again and when the Chief Minister of Punjab used to provoke the farmers there. Even then I had said that you should not provoke.
2. Haryana government is buying 100% crop on MSP
This is a matter related to our heart, because I am also a farmer’s son. I know what is the pain of the farmer? How does the farmer work in the field? How does he spend? Many times he remains empty. But, in Haryana, even if a natural disaster comes to the farmer, the government is seen standing. We have understood this pain of the farmers inside Haryana. We bought 14 crops on MSP earlier. Now we are buying 100% crop on MSP.
3. Punjab CM should talk less, buy crop on MSP
I had earlier told the Punjab government that you should talk less. Go among the farmers. Assure them. Go and tell them that we will buy your crop on MSP. Why are you not buying, they should buy. There should be less talk. They should be given relief.
Debate with Punjab CM over farmers’ protest in Chandigarh
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) had held a meeting on 26 February and announced an indefinite dharna in Chandigarh from March 5. He was demanding a legal guarantee of MSP for farmers along with resolving issues related to the Punjab government. After this, CM Bhagwant Mann called a meeting with the farmers on March 4.
However, there was an argument between them in this. Regarding this, CM Bhagwant Mann himself told the media – I asked the farmers what would happen to the March 5 morcha? They said that it would continue. Then I asked why did you make me sit for two and a half hours, when their demands were not in my jurisdiction, but were related to the central government?
The CM further said – The farmers said that I called the meeting out of fear of dharna. I said that this is wrong. I am a friend of the farmers but the meeting and the morcha cannot go together.
