This will be the second time in four and a half months that the proceedings of the Assembly (Haryana Budget Session 2025) will run without the Leader of Opposition. Congress could not select the leader of the legislative party even till Thursday night. The leader of the Congress Legislature Party will be the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly.
The meeting of the Congress Legislature Party held on Thursday evening was also held without a leader. Former Chief Minister and former Leader of Opposition Bhupendra Singh Hooda was present in the meeting, but State President Udaybhan chaired the meeting and discussed with the MLAs the strategy to surround the BJP government in the House. The meeting of the Congress Legislature Party was also called by Udaybhan instead of Hooda.
The budget was to be presented on March 13 earlier
Let us tell you that in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly (Haryana Budget Session), the pre-scheduled program of the budget session has been changed. Earlier the budget session was to run till March 25, but now the budget session will be conducted till March 28. According to the previously proposed program of the assembly, the budget was proposed to be presented on the day of Chhoti Holi i.e. March 13, but now the budget will be presented on Monday, March 17.
The leaders of the opposition parties opposed the presentation of the budget on the day of Chhoti Holi and suggested to the government that it should be presented on some other day. Since the results of the urban body elections are to be announced on March 12, the budget will be presented on March 17 after several holidays together after Holi.
This is how the proceedings of the budget session of the assembly will go on
There will be a holiday on Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9.
The Governor’s address will be discussed for three days from March 10 to 12.
CM Naib Singh Saini will reply on the 13th.
There will be a holiday on March 14 for Faag, Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16.
On March 17, the Chief Minister will present the annual budget of the state.
The budget will be discussed for three consecutive days, i.e. from March 18 to March 20.
The budget grant demands will be discussed on March 21 and 22.
Holiday on 23rd March and demands for grants will be placed on 24th and 25th March.
Reports of various committees of the Vidhan Sabha will be placed in the House on 26th March.
CM will reply to the discussion on budget estimates on 27th and the budget will be passed.
Other legislative work will be done on 28th March. Various bills will also be introduced in the Vidhan Sabha.
