Referring to the completion of 75 years of the Republic, the Governor said that ‘Hamara Samvidhan-Hamara Swabhiman’ campaign is being run across the country. It is a matter of pride for Haryana that eight people from the state were involved in the making of the Constitution. These include Pandit Thakur Das Bhargava, Master Nandlal, Chaudhary Ranbir Singh Hooda, Lala Deshbandhu Gupta, Chaudhary Nihal Singh Takshak, Dr. Gopichand Bhargava, Chaudhary Surajmal Advocate and Pandit Shriram Sharma.
On the first day of the budget session in the Haryana Legislative Assembly on Friday, Governor Bandaru Dattatreya presented the roadmap for the development of the state in his address. The Governor’s address mentioned everything from the Constitution to the Prayagraj Mahakumbh. The government will increase the number of buses in the state transport fleet from four thousand to 5300. The state transport fleet will be increased in a phased manner. Electric buses will run for long distances from NCR.
Mention of ‘Chief Minister Tirth Yatra’ scheme
The address also mentions the ‘Chief Minister Tirth Yatra’ scheme launched by the Haryana government along with the Prayagraj Mahakumbh. This scheme was started for the elderly of low-income families. The elderly of the state were given a Sangam bath in the Mahakumbh held in Prayagraj. This scheme has proved to be a boon for the elderly to visit Ramlal’s darshan in Ayodhya, Vaishno Devi, Shirdi and many other pilgrimage places. ‘Happy Yojana’ was implemented for free travel in roadways buses to the poor people of the state. Under the scheme, 11 lakh 64 thousand 692 people have traveled 42 lakh 14 thousand km free of cost since December-2023. The beneficiaries included in the scheme will get a chance to travel free up to one thousand km annually
840 crores to accident victims
The Governor said that ‘Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivar Suraksha’ scheme has been implemented in cases of death or disability of a family member in an accident. Under this, financial help of Rs 840 crore 90 lakh has been given to 22 thousand 585 poor families. Under the ‘Har Ghar-Har Grahini’ scheme, more than 13 lakh poor families are being given gas cylinders for Rs 500 every month. Their number will increase further in the coming days.
